The MACK Group, LLC (MACK) Completes the Decontamination, Decommissioning and Removal of 500lf of Duct Work from a Former Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing Facility Located in Northern New Jersey.

The MACK Group, LLC, recently completed a project that consisted of the decontamination, decommissioning and removal of 500lf of duct work from a former drug manufacturing facility. The owner wanted to decommission and remove contaminated duct work that ran above a current manufacturing facility and re-utilize the building for other purposes. In order to do this a complete decontamination, decommissioning and removal of the duct work needed to occur without the cross contamination of non-contaminated areas that the existing ducts ran through.

The MACK Group, LLC (MACK) HAZWHOPER trained MACK workers utilized chemical Tyvek suites and Full Face PAPR respirators during the entire decontamination process. The area and duct work was contained and put under negative pressure.  To decontaminate surfaces, MACK used a combination of proprietary cleaning products and also machines that they own in their fleet of equipment. Upon completion various tests were done in order to ensure the area was clean.

The project was completed on schedule, under budget and without incident or injury.
